Dr. Alain Algazi is a Professor of Medicine at UCSF and a specialist in cutaneous malignancies and head and neck cancers. He leads UCSF’s program in medical therapy for head and neck cancers, and chairs the UCSF Head and Neck Cancer Research Committee. He served on UCSF’s Scientific Review Committee for 10 years and he currently serves on the UCSF Data Safety Monitoring Committee.
In his research, Dr. Algazi conducts clinical trials with an emphasis on intralesional therapy and other novel immune therapy combinations. He has also served as the national study chair for several clinical trials conducted through the Southwest Oncology Group and he served for several years as a member of the NCCN Melanoma Panel.Dr. Algazi earned his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed a residency in internal medicine at UCLA Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in hematology-oncology at UCSF.
