Afzal Ibrahim currently serves as the CTO at Omnispay, focusing on building payments and lending experiences for SMEs. Additionally, as a Principal at Uncode, Afzal creates projects to explore untapped narratives. Previous roles include Head of Fintech & Emerging Tech at Emirates NBD, where Afzal led digital initiatives and built multifunctional teams, and VP of R&D Emerging Tech Engineering, responsible for developing solutions in collaboration with various stakeholders. Afzal has also contributed as an Academic Mentor for DeFi and Web3 programs at DeFi Talents and held key positions in data and analytics at Emirates Islamic. Educational qualifications include an MS in Information Technology from Heriot-Watt University, a certificate in Digital Ethics from the University of Helsinki, and a TOGAF certification in Enterprise Architecture.
