Leo Mendez, CPA, currently serves as the Accounting Supervisor at Olivenhain Municipal Water District, leading the finance and accounting team in financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning since April 2016. Previously, Leo held positions such as GL Accountant II and was responsible for the closing process and completion of financial statements. Prior to that, Leo worked as an Accountant III at the Los Angeles County Department of Auditor-Controller, handling fiscal responsibilities for Joint Power Authorities and Special Funds, and as an Accountant I/II at the Department of Public Works. Leo’s early career included a role as Staff Accountant for Venture Strategies Innovations, where financial management supported international operations. Academic credentials include a B.A. in Business Administration - Accounting from Cal State Fullerton and completion of CPA licensure coursework at UCLA.
