Derek Warner-Reyes has a diverse work experience. Derek is currently working as a Lead Software Engineer at Olio Apps since March 2021. Before that, they engaged in various Personal Software Engineering Projects from November 2020 to January 2021, where they took on roles such as Fullstack Engineer, Backend Developer, Designer & Developer, and participated in a Phaser Game Jam. Derek also served as a Server at Fish & Rice from June 2019 to March 2020, and at Bamboo Sushi from February 2017 to June 2019, where they were a Lead Server and Trainer. In 2016, Derek worked as an Expeditor at Pok Pok, handling line lead and counter server responsibilities. Prior to that, they were an Experience Guide on the Customer Experience Team at REVANT OPTICS in 2015, where they became proficient in fulfillment, feedback, and order management platforms. Derek also had a role as a Development Assistant at Lewis & Clark College from 2012 to 2015, raising funds and participating in internship opportunities such as a German Tutor and Discussion Instructor, and a John S. Rogers Intern in the Weissman-Unni Zebrafish lab, where they conducted research and collaborated with fellow scientists.

Derek Warner-Reyes attended Hack Reactor from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, they studied at Lewis & Clark College from 2011 to 2015, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in German Studies. In 2013, they studied at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München for a year as part of their undergraduate studies in Germanistik. Before attending college, Derek participated in the Early College for High School Students program at Ocean County College in 2010-2011. Derek completed their high school education at Manchester Township High School, earning a High School Diploma from 2007 to 2011.
