Vanessa Onguti is an accomplished attorney with experience in various legal roles, currently serving as an Attorney-Advisor at the U.S. Department of Commerce since October 2019. Previously, Vanessa worked as an Associate Attorney at Brownell Landrigan, PC from April 2018 to October 2019 and held the position of Attorney-Advisor Fellow at the Department of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs from March 2017 to March 2018. Additionally, Vanessa provided legal consultancy services at The U.S.-Africa Chamber of Commerce and the World Bank Group, where engagements occurred in 2017 and 2015-2016, respectively. Vanessa began their legal career as a Legal Intern for the General Counsel at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from October 2014 to April 2015. Vanessa's educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in International/Global Studies from Baylor University, along with participation in an educational program at the University of Oxford in 2014.
