Eric Peterson

Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Oklahoma Wesleyan University

Professor Eric Peterson is passionate about bringing together advanced knowledge with practical application, and it’s the marriage of these two arms of Criminal Justice that make OKWU’s program unique. He served for more than 20 years with the Bartlesville Police Department and took on a variety of roles within the department, including firearms instructor, special operations, and training officer. After leaving his role as an active duty police officer, Peterson designed the OKWU curriculum from the ground up, with an emphasis on giving his students the best practical teaching in the area.

He received his B.S. in Business Administration from Oklahoma Wesleyan, as well as his M.B.A. from Southern Nazarene University. Peterson received his master’s in philosophy from Walden University and is currently pursuing his doctorate there.
