Michael Maguire is an experienced professional in privacy compliance and investigations, currently serving as the Director of PIPEDA Compliance at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada since 2012. In this role, Michael manages a team of Senior Privacy Investigators focused on the enforcement of PIPEDA and oversees significant high-profile and international investigations. Prior to this, Michael held various positions at Export Development Canada from 2000 to 2011, including Manager Recoveries and Senior Underwriter. Michael holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) with honors in Finance from the University of Ottawa.
