Lara Ives serves as the Executive Director of Policy, Research and Parliamentary Affairs at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, a position held since August 2007. Throughout the tenure at this office, Lara has additionally held roles such as Director of Government Advisory, Acting Director General of Audit and Review, and Manager of Privacy Impact Assessment. Prior to this, Lara was the Officer of Complaints and Investigations at the NS Barristers' Society from 2006 to 2007. Lara holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in Common Law from the University of Ottawa, obtained between 2003 and 2006, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Government from Saint Mary's University, earned from 1998 to 2002.
