Katie Kellett is a Deputy Public Defender at the Colorado State Public Defender since August 2021. Previous roles include serving as a Teaching Assistant for Constitutional Law and Civil Procedure at the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law and as a Certified Legal Intern with the same public defender's office. Katie gained experience as a Summer Legal Intern with Movement for Family Power and as a Student Attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic at the DU Student Law Office. Additional experience includes law clerk internships at Denver Juvenile Court and legal internships at the Colorado State Public Defender. Earlier in their career, Katie worked at Balfour Senior Living as Lead Concierge and Concierge, as well as serving as a Colorado Senate Aide. Katie holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law and Bachelor's degrees in Communication and Political Science from Colorado Christian University.
