Olof Bystrom is a Senior Economist at OECD - OCDE since January 2023, leading research focused on environmental policy evaluation and sustainability. Previously, as Manager of Enterprise Strategy at SMUD from December 2016 to December 2022, Bystrom developed strategic planning initiatives, including a plan to achieve Zero Carbon by 2030, and researched emerging technologies and business models. Bystrom served as Head of Department at DNV GL from July 2013 to November 2016, overseeing energy market and policy consulting, while also conducting research on renewable energy integration. As a Team Lead at UNFCCC from July 2009 to July 2013, Bystrom led carbon offset project assessments and facilitated international climate negotiations. Earlier roles included Director at Cambridge Energy Research Associates, Project Manager at Global Energy Decisions, and Portfolio Manager at the United Nations Office for Project Services. Olof Bystrom holds a Ph.D. in Economics and has degrees in Environmental Economics and Economics from respected institutions.
