Susan Smith has a diverse range of work experience. Susan is currently serving as the VP of Finance Solutions for the Public Sector at Odyssey Energy Solutions since February 2023. Prior to this, they were the Chief of Staff for Power Africa at USAID from April 2019 to February 2023. Susan also worked at Another Option LLC as a Technical Consultant from June 2017 to June 2018, providing support for the implementation of a USAID-funded program. Before that, they held various roles at EBRD, including Principal Adviser from February 2015 to December 2016 and Principal Manager from November 2013 to February 2015. Susan's experience also includes working as a Bank Adviser at Business & Finance Consulting from October 2012 to October 2013 and as an Adviser to the U.S. Executive Director at EBRD, analyzing investment proposals from energy, infrastructure, financial institutions, and property sectors, from 2008 to 2011. Susan began their career as an Intern at the U.S. Department of State in 2007 and as a Fulbright Grant Fellow in Tbilisi, Georgia from 2005 to 2006. Prior to that, Susan worked as an Election Observer at OSCE ODIHR in 2004 and as a Program Assistant at The International Foundation for Electoral Systems from 2003 to 2005.
Susan Smith received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin, where the field of study is not specified, from 1998 to 2001. Later, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Economics with a focus on Energy Policy from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) from 2006 to 2008. In 2021, Susan obtained a Certificate in Renewable Energy Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
