Timothy Allen has a diverse work experience spanning over four decades. Timothy started their career as a Nuclear Electrical Engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding, where they were responsible for overseeing the installation, inspection, testing, and approval of nuclear electrical systems for the US Navy's aircraft carriers and submarines. Timothy also played a role in the CALS initiative, which aimed to digitize documentation, including Reactor Plant Manuals for the Seawolf Class Submarines.
After working at Newport News Shipbuilding for over 13 years, Timothy transitioned to the technology sector. Timothy joined Arbortext, where they held multiple roles, including Software Engineer, Business Development Manager, Product Manager, and Principal Consultant. As a Software Engineer, they implemented features and functionality for core products and provided engineering estimates. In their role as a Business Development Manager, they evaluated technical partner technologies and managed partner relationships. As a Product Manager, they determined product futures based on customer input and developed requirements for product releases. As a Principal Consultant, they led a team in converting customer's legacy content to Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) format and developed reusable applications.
After their tenure at Arbortext, Timothy joined PTC as a Sales Application Engineer Technical Fellow. In this role, they executed on the technical closure of large and strategic sales opportunities worldwide. Timothy also supervised Sales Application Engineers and collaborated with Product Management and Engineering to determine future product improvements.
Timothy's next position was as Chief Operating Officer at The Solutions Group Inc. Their responsibilities included planning, developing, and implementing policies, systems, processes, procedures, and methodologies to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the company. Timothy also established and maintained systems for measuring operational management and development.
In 2012, Timothy became the CEO/President of Titania Software, where they served until 2020. Timothy led the company and oversaw its operations.
Currently, Timothy is an Official Member of the Forbes Technology Council.
Timothy Allen started their education journey by attending Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School from 1981 to 1985. During this period, they focused on studying Electrician. Following that, from 1982 to 1985, they pursued an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Engineering at Thomas Nelson. After a brief gap, Timothy went on to attend Old Dominion University from 1991 to 1994, where they studied Electrical Engineering.
