Shukura Bailey is an experienced professional specializing in diversity, equity, and inclusion consulting. Since January 2024, Shukura serves as a consultant for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Employee Resource Group at Oakville Public Library while also consulting for Halton Equity Diversity Roundtable since March 2023. Previous roles include Learning Designer at The Humphrey Group Inc. and Program Coordinator for the Youth Wellness Centre at WoodGreen Community Services, where Shukura facilitated wrap-around services for youth aged 12-29. Shukura’s experience also features advocacy work as a Community Animator for Black Women in Motion and administrative roles at Christen Seaton Burrison Hudani LLP. Educational qualifications include a Learning Experience Design certificate from York University School of Continuing Studies and a Human Kinetics degree with a minor in Psychology from the University of Ottawa.
