Emilio Ortega is an accomplished educational professional with extensive experience in program management and student support. Currently serving as the Program Manager for Community Schools at Oakland Unified School District, Emilio works to enhance student success at West Oakland Middle by facilitating access to various resources. Previous roles include Dean of Students at Making Waves Academy, where responsibilities encompassed managing behavioral and disciplinary issues for over 600 middle school students, and Associate Dean of Students at Aim High, focusing on fostering a positive school culture. Emilio has a strong background in restorative practices, facilitating over 500 community-building circles, and has also contributed to the Office of African American Male Achievement by implementing life skills lessons. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Morehouse College and a Master’s in Educational Leadership, along with advanced studies in marketing and business management from prestigious institutions, Emilio demonstrates a robust commitment to educational excellence and student empowerment.
