Matt James has a diverse range of work experience in various industries. Matt most recently served as the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Acquisition Officer at Oakbridge Insurance, where they focused on creating sustainable shareholder value through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Prior to that, they founded and was the Principal at Elusive Alpha, a boutique consultancy specializing in long-term value creation for businesses. Matt also held positions at Prime Risk Partners and Harbert Management Corporation, where they played key roles in finance and private equity. Additionally, they have experience in investment banking at Fidus Partners and served in various roles at Allegacy Services, JBA Benefits, and Co-operative Payroll Solutions, LLC.

Matt James attended Wake Forest University from 2003 to 2007 and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History. From 2007 to 2008, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Management from the Wake Forest University School of Business. In 2015, they enrolled at the Yale School of Management and completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Asset Management from 2015 to 2017.
