Matt Chan is an experienced data professional currently serving as the Principal Data Analyst and Data Platform and Integration Lead at the Office of the Auditor-General, New Zealand since August 2023. Prior to this position, Matt was the Manager of Data Foundations at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand from June 2022 to August 2023 and held the role of Director of Data and Analytics at the Office of the Auditor-General from March 2019 to June 2022. Matt’s extensive background includes various roles at Inland Revenue NZ from February 2006 to March 2019, including Intelligence and Insight Specialist and Specialist Data Scientist, focusing on data integration and infrastructure. Matt's career began as a Consultant at Sony in 2004 and is supported by a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration in Accounting and Finance from Victoria University of Wellington.
