Sheena Faye Garcia is a Doctoral Research Assistant at NYU Langone Health since August 2018, under the guidance of Michele Pagano, MD. Previously, Garcia served as a Visiting Scientist at the University of Washington from December 2021 to September 2022, working with Ning Zheng, PhD, and contributed as a Research Fellow for the Tayo Caretaker Project at FYLPRO from January 2020 to March 2022. Academic experience includes a role as a GSLE Undergraduate Research Fellow at the University of Toronto from May 2016 to June 2018, under Walid A Houry, PhD, and as a ROP Research Fellow focused on uridine metabolism with Amy Caudy, PhD. Research efforts have involved x-ray crystallography studies leading to insights on mitochondrial protein activation and protein purification methods, both significant for cancer therapy and metabolic research. Education includes a PhD in progress at New York University in Molecular Biophysics and Molecular Oncology and Tumor Immunology, following a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Human Biology from the University of Toronto.
