Katrien Vermeire currently serves as a Professional Advisor at the Hearing Loss Association of America since June 2021. Prior experience includes roles as Assistant Professor and Visiting Assistant Professor at Long Island University from September 2016 to September 2022, and as an Adjunct Instructor at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development from September 2016 to May 2018. Katrien has held various research and leadership positions, such as Director of Speech and Hearing at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and post-doctoral roles at several universities, including University Hospital Antwerp and University of Innsbruck. Educational credentials include a Master in Science in Global Public Health from Queen Mary University of London and a PhD in Medical Science from University Antwerp, among other advanced certifications.
