Matthew De Los Santos, P.Eng, PMP has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Matthew is currently serving as the Section Manager of Mining and Repository Engineering at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization since June 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Deswik as a Senior Mining Consultant from October 2020 to June 2021 and as a Mining Consultant from April 2019 to October 2020.
Before joining Deswik, Matthew held various roles at Torex Gold Resources Inc. Matthew worked as a Corporate Mining Engineer from November 2018 to April 2019 and as a Senior Mining Engineer from June 2017 to November 2018. Their responsibilities included managing the underground exploration ramp project - El Limon Deep, which involved tasks such as RFP preparation, contractor selection, project budgeting, and project controls. Matthew also served as a Project Engineer for the El Limon Deep project from June 2016 to June 2017, where they were responsible for mine design, scheduling, and various project management activities. Matthew started their journey at Torex Gold Resources Inc as an EIT - Mine Planning Engineer from November 2014 to June 2016, where they contributed to the Life of Mine underground mine design and scheduling for the Media Luna Project.
In addition to their tenure at Torex Gold Resources Inc and Deswik, Matthew worked as a Mine Planner - EIT at San Gold Corporation from June 2013 to November 2014. Matthew also gained industry experience as an Engineering Student at Wesdome Gold Mines from January 2012 to April 2012 and as a Mining Engineering Student at Canadian Salt Company Ltd. from September 2011 to December 2011 and from May 2010 to August 2010. Before their professional endeavors in the mining industry, Matthew worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Syncrude Canada Ltd. in the summer of 2009.
Matthew De Los Santos holds a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Overall, with their extensive background in mining engineering and project management, Matthew possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field.

Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree with a focus in Mining Engineering Co-op from McGill University.
