Gus Thijssen is an experienced professional in the energy and trading sectors, currently serving as a Trader for Nuvo Energy since January 2023, focusing on petroleum products. Prior to this role, Gus worked as the Operations & Business Development Manager at LITASCO SA and held various positions at Total, including Senior Operator, Trading Operations Coordinator, and Trading Operator for both the Gasoline and High Sulfur Fuel Oil desks. Gus gained initial industry experience at OMV as an intern in Financial Risk Management and also completed internships at ING Nederland, where responsibilities included preparing credit proposals and supporting internal strategy development. In addition to a strong academic background with a Master’s Degree in Energy, Trade & Finance from Bayes Business School and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics & Business Economics from Erasmus School of Economics, Gus demonstrated leadership and operational skills as the Head of the exploitation/operations team for the 100th anniversary of R.S.C. and as COO and Founder of Ticketi, an innovative platform in the secondary ticket market.
