Dale Tomlinson

Facilities Manager at Nutromics

Dale Tomlinson has a diverse work experience in various roles related to facilities and laboratory management.

Dale started their career as a Facility & Laboratory Manager at Avexa Ltd. in 2010, where they were responsible for security, resources, and operations management. This was a short-term position as the company shut down operations.

In the same year, they joined Monash University as a Facility Manager for Monash Biomedical Imaging. Here, they set up the facility with MRI's, PET/SPECT/CT scanner, animal rooms, laboratories, and office space. Dale was also responsible for safety, first aid, and resource management until 2013.

From 2014 to 2015, Dale worked as an OHS Coordinator at Orygen: The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health. Dale'sresponsibilities included coordinating occupational health and safety measures.

Dale then moved on to The University of Melbourne in 2015 as an OHS Advisor until the end of the year.

In 2017, Dale worked as a Technical Assistant at La Trobe University, where they assisted with practical classes in Prosthetics & Orthotics and reviewed safety measures throughout the building. Dale also served as a Property/OHS Coordinator at Westall Secondary College during the same year.

From 2018 to 2020, they worked as a Technical Manager at Victoria University, where they supervised a team of 8 technical staff and managed teaching and research activities across multiple buildings and campuses. Dale was also responsible for purchasing, resources, compliance, safety, and emergency management.

In 2021, Dale joined the University of Melbourne again as a Laboratory Manager & OHS Advisor until September.

Currently, Dale is working at Nutromics since 2022 as a Laboratory Manager and recently appointed as a Facilities Manager.

Dale Tomlinson's education history begins in 1977 when they attended St. Leonards College in Brighton, Victoria, where they obtained their HSC (Higher School Certificate) in an unspecified field of study. From 1981 to 1984, Dale pursued a B.Sc. degree in Botany and Zoology at La Trobe University. Dale then attended Monash University in 1985, completing a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Botany/Plant Biology. In 1986, they furthered their education at the same university and earned a Dip. Ed. (Diploma of Education) in Science, with a focus on Biology.

In addition to their formal education, Dale has obtained several certifications. In 2018, they completed the course "Managing Your Career" from Lynda.com. In 2019, they acquired certifications in "Balancing Work and Life," "Mindfulness," and "Motivating and Engaging Employees" from Lynda.com. More recently, in 2021, Dale obtained certifications in "Building Resilience" and "Motivating and Engaging Employees" from LinkedIn. The institutions providing these certifications were Lynda.com and LinkedIn, respectively.
