Homero Martinez

Senior Technical Advisor at Nutrition International

Homero Martinez is a clinical pediatrician with a PhD in International Nutrition, currently serving as a Senior Technical Advisor at Nutrition International since January 2018, where leadership of a multi-disciplinary task force focuses on addressing folate deficiency and neural tube defects. Previous experience includes roles as Senior Advisor at the Micronutrient Forum from January 2016 to January 2018, where collaboration among health stakeholders advanced micronutrient research and policy, and as a Senior Researcher at RAND Corporation from 2006 to 2015, concentrating on malnutrition and food insecurity in developing countries. Homero also held a position as a Board Member at CHNRI from 2003 to 2014, guiding research efforts in child health, and was the Head of the National Health Research Council at Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social from 2001 to 2005. Academic credentials include a PhD from Cornell University, a clinical specialty in Pediatrics from the Hospital Infantil de Mexico Federico Gomez, and an MD from UNAM.
