Jeffrey Luitjens is a Thermal Hydraulics Engineer specializing in Nuclear Fuels at NuScale Power since January 2012, where responsibilities include leading the development of a proprietary version of RELAP5-3D and validating code with analytical solutions and experimental data. Prior experience includes roles as a Nuclear Safety Analyst at NuScale, conducting safety system analyses and developing plant models. At Oregon State University from June 2008 to June 2015, Jeffrey served as an Undergraduate/Graduate Research Assistant, contributing to the Advanced Plant Experiment test facility and managing operations. Previous internships at Idaho National Laboratory and Westinghouse Electric Company provided essential experience in code development and engineering principles.
