Lucas De Oliveira Paes is a Senior Research Fellow at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs since September 2020, focusing on research in international organizations, global governance, and environmental politics. Previously, Lucas held the position of PhD Researcher at the University of Cambridge from October 2017 to September 2020 and served as Editor In Chief and Managing Editor for the Cambridge Review of International Affairs. Earlier experience includes working as a Research Assistant at the University of Denver's Josef Korbel School of International Studies and as a Researcher at the Centro de Estudos Internacionais sobre Governo, where leadership involved conducting evaluations for a Brazilian export promotion agency. Educational achievements comprise a PhD in International Relations from the University of Cambridge and a Master's degree from UFRGS.
