Ben McAvoy has been in the finance industry for over 10 years. Ben began their career in 2011 as a Sales Assistant at Compass Group. In 2012, they moved to Home Retail Group PLC, where they held roles as a CAD Designer and a Showroom Sales Advisor. In 2015, they joined PwC, where they worked as an Associate, Senior Associate and Manager. Most recently, they began working at NuCana plc as a Financial Reporting & Controls Manager in 2021.

Ben McAvoy attended Ardrossan Academy from 2004 to 2010. Ben then went on to The University of Edinburgh, where they obtained a Master of Arts in Economics and Accounting between 2010 and 2014. Finally, they completed a Chartered Accountant qualification at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland between 2015 and 2018.
