Winny de Jong is an experienced data journalist currently serving as Chef Dataredactie at NRC since February 2022, while also working as an Advisory Board Member for the Nationaal Archief and participating in the European Press Prize's preparatory committee. Winny holds a position as an adviser for the Fonds Bijzondere Journalistieke Projecten and has been a freelance data journalist at Winny Media since October 2010, specializing in data-driven investigations. Previous roles include data journalist positions at NOS and OneWorld, with an early career involving online communication for the NVJ and intern work at 3FM NOSop3. Winny de Jong obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Fontys Hogeschool Tilburg and completed pre-university education at Melanchthon College Rotterdam.
