Laura Saarlo

Project Director, Light Rail Construction at NRC Group Finland

Laura Saarlo has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Laura began their career at OP Financial Group, working as a Payment Officer from 2011 to 2017. Laura then joined Liikennevirasto / Trafikverket / Finnish Transport Agency as a Master's Thesis Worker / Trainee for 8 months. After that, they worked at VR Track Oy as a Project Engineer and Trainee for a year. In 2015, they joined OP Financial Group again, this time as a Payment Advisor until 2017. In 2018, they joined NRC Group Finland as a Development Consultant, where they handled various development projects. In 2020, they took on the role of Quality, Environmental and Commissioning Manager at the @Kruunusillat (Crown Bridges) Tramway Alliance. Finally, in 2023, they became the Project Manager for Light Rail Construction at NRC Group Finland, and later on, the Project Director for the same project.

Laura Saarlo completed their education at various institutions. Laura attended LUT University from 2010 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (Tech) in Industrial Engineering and Management. Additionally, they attended LUT University from 2013 to 2017, earning a Master of Science (Tech) in Industrial Engineering and Management. In 2014, they briefly studied at Sungkyunkwan University, where they pursued a Master of Science (MS) in International Trade. Prior to their university education, they attended Helsingin luonnontiedelukio from 2004 to 2007, where they obtained a Matricular Examination. In 2005 and 2006, they attended Edmond Memorial High School, though no degrees or fields of study are specified for this period.

In terms of certifications, Laura Saarlo obtained an Occupational Safety Card and a Railway Safety Card in February 2023 from Työturvallisuuskeskus TTK - The Centre for Occupational Safety. Laura also obtained a BREEAM Assessor certification from BRE Global Ireland in November 2021.
