Marc Silver is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in health and development blogging at NPR since 2014. Prior to this role, Silver served as Deputy Editor for Text at National Geographic Magazine from September 2009 to April 2014 and held the position of Deputy Director, Departments at the National Geographic Society from January 2007 to September 2009. Silver's career began at U.S. News & World Report, where Marc worked as Assistant Managing Editor from 1988 to 2006. Silver holds a B.A. in English with a minor in Journalism from the University of Maryland, where studies were completed between 1970 and 1973.
