Derek Acosta is a software engineer with extensive experience in backend development, microservices, and web applications. Currently at NPR since October 2019, Derek works on the Core Service Team, focusing on rearchitecting and maintaining backend REST APIs and microservices, establishing service level objectives, and enhancing content consistency across platforms. Previous roles include serving as Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder at Solve Media, as well as various software engineering positions at WithYouWithMe and Minerva Analytics. Derek's early career features internships and roles at prominent organizations such as NPR, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Derek holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Philosophy, and Linguistics from Georgetown University.
