Ammad Omar is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in broadcasting and news management. Currently serving as Chief National Editor at NPR since September 2011, Ammad oversees a team of over 50 journalists and collaborates with member stations nationwide. Prior experience at Chicago Public Radio includes roles such as Deputy National Editor for the West and News Desk Editor, where Ammad managed the News Desk and was responsible for 22 daily newscasts and breaking news coverage. Earlier career highlights include hosting at Indus Vision and an internship at the Embassy of Pakistan, complementing a solid educational foundation from the University of Michigan.
