Maria Ferguson has a diverse professional background in education and scientific research. Currently serving as a Substitute Teacher at Norwin School District since March 2022, Maria has contributed to public education on a part-time basis. In addition, Maria has been a Drinking Water Specialist/Sanitarian since January 1995, focusing on the regulation of public water supplies in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Previous roles include Research Specialist at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where Maria worked in the Transplantation Pathology Lab utilizing immunohistochemical procedures, and Graduate Assistant/Research Assistant at Youngstown State University, instructing lab courses and conducting research for a Master's thesis. Maria began their career as a Technician at IT Corporation, employing EPA methods for pesticide and herbicide analysis. Maria holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Seton Hill University and an M.S. in Chemistry from Youngstown State University.
