Jon Yates is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in marketing, media relations, and journalism. Currently serving as Vice President for Global Marketing and Communications at Northwestern University since November 2017, Jon previously held the positions of Assistant Vice President of Communications and Director of Media Relations at the same institution. Prior to Northwestern, Jon was a Senior Manager at PwC, where responsibilities included serving as editor-in-chief for digital thought leadership and managing marketing for the award-winning Exchange event. Jon's journalistic career began at the Chicago Tribune, where a consumer advocacy column was authored alongside coverage of various news topics. Additional reporting experience includes tenures at The Tennessean, The Desert Sun, and the Iowa City Press-Citizen. Jon is also an author, having published a consumer advocacy guide in 2011, and has taught as an adjunct professor at Columbia College. Jon holds a BA in Journalism and History from the University of Iowa.
