Taleen Karnieg, PharmD, MPH has extensive experience in the field of pharmacy. Taleen currently serves as a Site Lead and Clinical Pharmacist at Northwest Telepharmacy Solutions, where they provide clinical and distribution pharmacy services to hospitals remotely. Taleen also takes on a leadership role, collaborating with hospital leads and pharmacists to ensure seamless patient care. Taleen is responsible for training and providing prospective audit and feedback to telepharmacists on their team.
Prior to their current role, Taleen worked as a Medical Writer and a Clinical Pharmacist at Halton Healthcare. Taleen also served as a Clinical Instructor at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto. Taleen has interned at UNESCO and completed their MPH Practicum at Eli Lilly Canada.
In terms of hospital experience, Taleen worked as a Clinical Pharmacist at North York General Hospital, where they gained expertise in Emergency Department, Oncology, Surgery, Pediatrics, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit settings. Taleen also worked as a Clinical Pharmacist at London Health Sciences Centre, specializing in Internal Medicine and Vascular Surgery.
Earlier in their career, Taleen gained valuable experience at Shoppers Drug Mart as both a Pharmacist and a Pharmacy Assistant. Taleen successfully improved the rate of pharmacist-recommended medication changes by implementing standardized communication tools and training programs. Taleen also ensured compliance with Health Canada regulations by monitoring and reporting adverse events.
Taleen has also worked as a Medical Information Officer at Ipsen. Overall, they bring a diverse range of skills and expertise to their professional endeavors in the field of pharmacy.
Taleen Karnieg holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) with Honours degree from the University of Toronto, obtained between 2013 and 2017. Taleen also has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from the same university, completed between 2009 and 2013. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at Brock University, starting in 2020 and expected to finish in 2023. Taleen Karnieg also holds several additional certifications related to their field of expertise, such as training in research ethics, clinical practice, and first aid.
