Amy Simmons is the current Deceptions Program Manager at Northwest Family Services. Amy has been with the company since September 2015 and in their current role since May 2018. Prior to their current role, they served as a Community Educator on youth suicide prevention, parent-child relationships and prevention of child sex trafficking.
Amy began their career as a Social Work Intern at Reynolds Middle School from September 2014 to June 2015. Amy then became an Individual Counselor at LifeWorks NW from May 2014 to September 2014. Amy’s counseling career began at Northwest Behavioral Healthcare from May 2013 to May 2014 as an Adolescent Counselor. In this role, they counseled clients through personal, social, or behavioral difficulties while they were in treatment for substance abuse and/or mental health issues. Amy also developed and taught strategies to promote client wellness for the good of themselves and the community at large through group facilitation.
Amy Simmons has a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) from Portland State University in Child, Youth and Family Services, a Dual Bachelors of Science in Theology and Psychology from Multnomah University, and certification from the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Worker in CSWA and ACCBO in CADC 1.
