John Malene has over 14 years of professional software development experience. From 2006 to 2014, they worked as a Software Developer at James Madison University. From 2007 to 2009, they were a Software Engineer at HPTi, working on the Department of Treasury's Financial Management Systems. From 2009 to 2012, they were a Sr. Technical Lead, Configuration Manager, CMMI PPQA Auditor, and Scrum Master at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). From 2012 to 2014, they were a Software Developer at Invertix Corporation, where they designed and integrated cloud-computing based analytical services, UI and visualization of the data, and Ozone Widget Framework data visualization widgets. Finally, from 2014 to present, they have been a Software Developer at Northstrat Incorporated, where they have participated in requirements analysis, detailed level design, software development, and testing of a Java-based software system; as well as designed and developed web services and various testing tools.

John Malene has a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science from James Madison University, which they obtained between 2003 and 2007. John also has a Master's of Science in Software Engineering from George Mason University, which they obtained between 2007 and 2010.
