John Amberg serves as Executive Vice President and Global Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer at Northern Trust Corporation since November 2013, overseeing compliance functions across multiple legal entities and product verticals, including financial crime and asset management. Prior roles at Northern Trust include Senior Vice President positions overseeing global compliance and legal disputes. John Amberg's earlier experience includes Senior Litigation Counsel at Motorola Solutions, Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and over a decade at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where John Amberg specialized in complex litigation and class action defense. John Amberg holds a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
