Kathy Spiegelman

Vp/chief Planning, Real Estate, And Facilities at Northeastern University

Kathy Spiegelman has extensive experience in urban planning and real estate development, currently serving as Vice President and Chief of Campus Planning and Development at Northeastern University since March 2013, where responsibilities include managing physical resources across multiple campuses. Prior to this role, Kathy was a Design Critic and Instructor at Harvard Graduate School of Design from 2008 to June 2021, focusing on curriculum development for Masters in Urban Planning. Kathy also operated Kathy A. Spiegelman Consulting from July 2011 to February 2013, coordinating master planning efforts for Northeastern University and overseeing projects for Middlesex School. Kathy's earlier positions at Harvard University included Chief Planner roles in both the Allston Development Group and the Allston Initiative, as well as leadership roles in Harvard Real Estate. Kathy's career in public service began with a role as Assistant City Manager for Community Development in Cambridge. Educationally, Kathy holds a BA in American Civilization from Brown University and an MS in Architecture and Planning from Columbia University.
