Els Verfaillie has extensive experience in the field of IT and GIS, currently serving as IT Manager and GIS Coordinator - IT Project Manager at North Sea Port since July 2012. Key contributions include the implementation of various systems such as a Contract Management System and Geographic Information System (ESRI), along with IT strategy development and digital twin orientation. Prior experience includes a role as a Scientific Researcher at Ghent University, where Els Verfaillie focused on research projects in cartography and GIS, culminating in a PhD in Geological and Earth Sciences. Educational qualifications include multiple degrees from Ghent University, complemented by a postgraduate degree in IT management from HOGENT.
