James (JD) Donovan is an accomplished academic and professional with extensive experience in natural sciences and management consulting. Serving as a Professor of Natural Science, Emeritus at North Central College since June 2017, James previously held a similar role at Shimer College from August 1999 to June 2017, where core and elective STEM courses were taught, alongside innovative interdisciplinary courses. Prior to these academic roles, James was involved in management consulting for Not-for-Profit organizations and held leadership positions at Habitat for Humanity International, where a training network was developed. James also contributed to research and development as a Senior Research Scientist and TQM Manager at Abbott Laboratories, with three patents awarded for diagnostic technologies. Educational credentials include a Postdoctoral program in Biophysics from UC San Diego, a PhD in Biophysics and Theoretical Biology from the University of Chicago, and a BS in Chemistry and Physics from the University of Notre Dame.
