Chris Downs is a seasoned professional in service design and innovation, currently serving as Chief Innovation Officer and Managing Director at Normally since April 2014. Chris has extensive experience in academia as an External Examiner at Glasgow School of Art from September 2014 to May 2019 and has engaged in personal data projects. Previously, Chris held the position of Service Design Principal at Method from March 2012 to February 2014, where service design was integrated into the agency's offerings. As co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of level business, Chris spearheaded efforts to commercialize semantic web technology, securing investment from Index Ventures. Additionally, Chris played a foundational role at live|work, the first service design agency, serving as both Founder and Non-Executive Director. Early in the career, Chris contributed to various design initiatives at Oyster Partners and IDEO, and has an educational background in Interaction Design from the Royal College of Art and Product Design from The Glasgow School of Art.
