Melissa P. has a diverse work experience in various roles. Melissa started their career as a Youth Program Coordinator at Girl Scout Network in 2010, where they planned and implemented programs for K-3rd graders and developed summer camp curriculums for K-12 graders. In 2013, they worked as an EMT at Onsite Medical Service, Inc., providing basic emergency services at contracted locations. In 2014, Melissa joined NORCAL Ambulance as an Emergency Medical Technician and later became a Field Supervisor. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Training at NORCAL Ambulance.

Melissa P. obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Nutrition Sciences from the University of California, Davis, where they studied from 2009 to 2013. In addition to their degree, they have various certifications including Certified Ambulance Documentation Specialist obtained from NAAC, Inc. in April 2018, NAEMSE Level I obtained from the National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE) in February 2018, AHA CPR Instructor obtained from the American Heart Association in July 2015, CPR & AED obtained from the American Heart Association in July 2019, and EMT-Basic obtained from the State of California-Emergency Medical Services Authority in August 2011.
