Swarna Balasubramaniam, MD has a long and varied work experience. 🦸♀️ Swarna began their career in 1992 as a General Surgery Resident at the Mayo Clinic - Graduate School of Medicine. 🦸♀️ Swarna then went on to become a Research Fellow in 1995 at the Mayo Graduate School in the Division of Molecular Oncology and Genetics, Lab of Dr. Nita Maihle. In 1999, they became a Staff General Surgeon at the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Medical Group. From 2002 to 2006, they were a Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellow and Clinical Instructor at Keck Medicine of USC. In 2006, they were appointed Chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, and also worked as a Colon Rectal Surgeon at the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. In 2007, they founded and became the Owner of the Sugar Land Colon & Rectal Clinic (Texas Colorectal Clinic, PA). Most recently, in 2018, they founded and became the CEO of Noleus Technologies, a novel therapeutic medical device that accelerates patient recovery after abdominal operations by treating post-operative ileus.
Swarna Balasubramaniam, MD completed their education history with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Mayo Clinic School of Medicine. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma from Lexington High School and a B.A. in Chemistry from Wellesley College. Additionally, they hoholdertifications from the American Board of Colon Rectal Surgery and the American Board of Surgery as a Board Certified General Surgeon.
