Michael "Mike" Yergey serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia, advocating for independent insurance agents through education, legislative support, and agency protection since July 2022. As the President and Vice President of Special Programs at Yergey Insurance Services, LLC, established in July 2013, Yergey specializes in the Security and Investigative Industry. Yergey has been a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Nokesville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department since 2002. Previously, Yergey owned and operated Yergey Insurance Agency, Inc. from January 2004 to June 2013, and contributed as a producer in the same agency from May 1991 to January 2004. Yergey holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Management, and Management Information Systems from Ferrum College, attended from 1991 to 1995, and completed general studies at Robinson High School from 1988 to 1991.
