Tao Zhao currently serves as the Senior Director of Imaging and Navigation at Noah Medical since April 2020, leading efforts in advanced medical imaging and navigation technologies. Prior to this role, Tao Zhao held multiple key positions at Intuitive Surgical from February 2007 to April 2020, including Managing Principal of Vision and Medical Imaging, where leadership was provided to develop planning and navigation software for the ION and da Vinci systems. Additional responsibilities included managing the development of the vision subsystem for the ION Endoluminal System and contributing to the creation of an image-guided robotic system targeting lung cancer. Earlier experience at Sarnoff Corp involved technical leadership on government-funded research projects focused on human tracking and biometric system integration. Educational background includes a PhD in Computer Science with a specialization in computer vision from the University of Southern California, as well as a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Tsinghua University.
