Thomas Kongstad Petersen

Thomas Kongstad Petersen has held a number of positions in the healthcare industry since 2007. From 2007 to 2018, they served as Chairman of the Board and Member Board of Directors for Basic & Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology. In 2018, they were appointed Chairman of the Life Science Committee for Healthcare DENMARK and also began a role as Chairman of NEXT Partnership. In 2014, they became Chairman of the Industrial Researcher Committee for Innovation Fund Denmark. From 2018 to 2019, they were a Mentor in Scion DTU Innovation Mentorteams for DTU Science Park. From 2018 to 2022, they are currently serving as Member Board of Directors for DANISH BIO - DANSK BIOTEK. Since 2019, they have been the Chief Operating Officer for NMD Pharma A/S. From 1999 to 2014, they held various roles at LEO Pharma, including Vice President of Global Clinical Operations, Vice President of Pharmaceutical Design & Development, Executive Director of Skin Research, Senior Director of Preclinical Development, Head of Department of Disease Pharmacology, Head of Section of Dermatology, Research Scientist in the Department of Pharmacology, and Project Manager for LEO Animal Health. Additionally, in 2018, they became a Board Member for The Danish Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry at Lif - Lægemiddelindustriforeningen.

Thomas Kongstad Petersen began their education in 1977, when they completed their Primary School Exam at Bakkegårdsskolen. From 1986 to 1989, they attended Aurehøj Gymnasium, where they obtained their Upper Secondary School Exit Examination in the Mathemathics-Physics side. Petersen then studied Veterinary Medicine at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, obtaining their D.V.M. in 1996. Thomas continued their studies at the same university, receiving their Ph.D. in Clinical Pathology in 1999. In 2010, Petersen attended IMD, where they studied Strategy and Leadership. In 2015, they completed the Innovation Leadership Challenge Programme (ILC) at DTU - Technical University of Denmark, focusing on Healthcare Innovation. Most recently, in 2020, Petersen obtained their Board Certificate from Board Company, after completing a Board Education course.
