Wong Lai Yong is a board member at Nitto and a senior consultant at CSR Asia. Wong has also worked as a lecturer/tutor at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College and Penang Women's Development Corporation. Wong Lai Yong has also written articles on CSR issues, social entrepreneurship, and inclusive business.

Wong Lai Yong has a Master of Business Administration from Keio Business School, a PhD in Business Administration from Yokohama National University, and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. Wong also has a Bachelor of Economics in Business Administration from Universiti Malaya and a Diploma in Facilitation for International Development Education from Takushoku University. In addition, they are a Career Development Advisor (CDA) from the Japan Career Development Association (JCDA) and a Hoikushi (Qualified Childcare Professional) from Japan.
