Badri Narayanan Gopalakrishnan, PhD, is a prominent economist and academic with extensive experience in both government and academia. Currently serving as a Visiting Senior Fellow and Non-Resident Fellow at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress, and a Fellow at NITI Aayog, Gopalakrishnan leads the development of India's Vision@2047 and engages in scenario analytics and economic modeling for policy issues. Gopalakrishnan has held key positions in trade and commerce policy at the Government of India and has served as an advisor for prestigious organizations including the Tata Group and Aditya Birla Group. Additionally, Gopalakrishnan holds faculty appointments at multiple universities, where Gopalakrishnan teaches courses in applied economics and collaborates on research initiatives. Gopalakrishnan's academic credentials include a PhD in Economics from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research and certificates in global economic analysis from Purdue University.
