Zaka Elab

Principal Data Scientist at NielsenIQ

Zaka Elab has a diverse range of work experience in the field of data science and software engineering. They started their career as a Junior Programmer at PERAMA INGENIERIA S.L.U., where they were responsible for porting web applications and creating app installers. They then worked as a Research Intern at Ericsson, where they studied algorithms over data streams. Following this, at Ericsson again, they worked as a Software Engineer, testing core functionalities of a PCRF solution and contributing to a code base migration project.

In 2017, Zaka Elab joined Redsys España as a Bitcoin and Blockchain training teacher, where they introduced students to the concept of blockchain and its relation to Bitcoin and Ethereum. They also worked as a Data Scientist at hAItta, building models to facilitate quality assurance and collaborating with clients to develop data collection pipelines. In addition, Zaka Elab worked as a Freelance Data Scientist, gathering and compiling unstructured data for clients.

Moving forward, Zaka Elab became a Senior Data Scientist at BOTECH FPI (antes GoNetFPI), where they built Ada-Boost models for fraud detection and designed an NLP model for author recognition. They also built a web scraper to collect user comments data. They then worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Freelance, processing MIDI files and using audio signal processing and machine learning techniques to extract features and build a music accompaniment generation model.

Most recently, Zaka Elab joined M2C Consulting as a Senior Data Scientist, providing insights to stakeholders, building a Markov Chain based Attribution Model, and utilizing various tools and technologies for data processing and analysis. Presently, they are working as a Principal Data Scientist at NielsenIQ.

Zaka Elab obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2013. Subsequently, Zaka pursued a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from the same institution, completing it in 2017.
