Matthias Scherr currently serves as a Scientist II in Protein Sciences at NGM Biopharmaceuticals, beginning in February 2024. Prior experience includes roles as Scientist II and Scientist I in Transfusion Medicine Research at Cerus from January 2022 to February 2024. Additionally, Matthias held postdoctoral and doctoral researcher positions at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry from June 2016 to January 2022, focusing on eukaryotic DNA replication and contributing to international collaborations while supervising students. Earlier experiences include an international internship at Bayer HealthCare, where project leadership involved research on TMPRSS6 and therapeutic programs, as well as positions at Technische Universität München and AlzChem AG. Matthias earned a PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics from the Technical University of Munich in December 2021, following a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the same institution.
