Hongjie Zhou is an experienced geotechnical engineer with extensive expertise in shallow foundation design, pipeline geotechnics, and advanced numerical modelling. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute since May 2017, Hongjie Zhou has previously held similar roles at Fugro AG and Advanced Geomechanics, contributing to project management and specialist laboratory tests. Educational credentials include a PhD in Offshore Geomechanics from The University of Western Australia and Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Geotechnical Engineering and Coastal and Ocean Engineering from Tianjin University. Professional experience also encompasses research and consultancy roles focused on pipe-soil interaction and suction caisson installation.
